Protecting your privacy
Ward7 is committed to protecting your privacy and the privacy of personal information provided to us. We comply with the relevant Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth). This policy outlines how we manage privacy protection of personal information you provide when you sign-up to and use the CML Symptom Tracker (the “Tracker”).
“Ward7”, “we”, “us” and “our” means Ward 7 Pty Ltd (ACN 622 236 668) of 351 Crown Street, Surry Hills, NSW, Australia 2010.
What personal information do we collect and why do we need and use it?
We collect personal information to enable to us to provide the services provided by the Tracker to you, those services being the provision of individualised symptom tracking and sending reminders to you, to remind you to track your symptoms. Please note the Tracker is not designed to, and does not send reminders about taking medication, only about tracking symptoms.
To provide these services, we need to collect the following personal information about you: your full name, your email address, your mobile phone number (optional), the date of your next appointment (optional), and the symptom impact of any current treatment (captured as a scale between 1-5).
If you sign-up to use the Tracker, your name and other information as set out above will be collected.
We will not use the information you provide for any marketing purposes.
How do we collect the personal information?
Information will be collected via the Tracker only.
Who will see or have access to your personal information?
Unless we are required to provide your personal information to others by law, by court order or to investigate suspected fraud or other unlawful activity, your information will only be seen or used by persons working in or for Ward7. These people will include our staff, administrative staff, research assistants and contract researchers.
Some de-identified, aggregated data from the Tracker may be shared between Ward7 and our client, Novartis Pharmaceuticals Australia Pty Limited, who are sponsoring the Tracker.
Security of Information
Our information systems and files are kept secured from unauthorised access and our staff and contracted agents and service providers have been informed of the importance we place on protecting your privacy and their role in helping us to do so. Information will be stored and disposed of in a secure environment, which may only be accessed by authorised personnel.
Although we will endeavor to protect your personal information, we are unable to guarantee that any information you transmit to us over the internet is 100% secure. Any information you transmit to us over the internet is conducted at your own risk.
What if I want to check what personal information you hold about me?
Subject to any legal restrictions, we are happy to advise you what personal information we hold about you and provide to you access to that personal information, should you request this. If your request is particularly complex or requires detailed searching of our records, there may be a reasonable cost to you in order for us to provide this information.
If you believe there are errors in our records about you, please let us know and we will be happy to investigate and correct any inaccuracies.

We use products such as HubSpot to analyse the audience statistics of our website to improve our content.
Do we send information overseas?
We do not normally send information overseas. The exception is if one of our clients is located overseas. If so, we will send the information to the country in which they are located. If we intend to send your personal information overseas, we will tell you the country and we will require the recipient to comply with the relevant Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Complaints
If you have a complaint about the way in which we have handled any privacy issue, including your request for access or correction of your personal information, you should contact us. Our contact details are set out below.
We will consider your complaint and determine whether it requires further investigation. We will notify you of the outcome of this investigation and any subsequent internal investigation.
If you remain unsatisfied with the way in which we have handled a privacy issue, you may approach an independent advisor or contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) (www.oaic.gov.au) for guidance on alternative courses of action which may be available.
